Intimate Micro Wedding at The Great Hall

Micro weddings are becoming SO trendy because of Covid and the restrictions on gatherings that are being placed. Couples are being forced to consider smaller, intimate wedding gatherings and I for one AM HERE FOR THIS!! Cristin and Angus knew what’s good before everyone else and chose to have a micro wedding this past February before Covid was a thing in Toronto. They had 27 of their closest loved ones celebrating their intimate ceremony at The Great Hall in downtown Toronto and every minute of their micro wedding was incredible. After their small wedding ceremony, they headed to George Restaurant for their reception, a space that will give you aaaaall the European vibes without ever needing to step foot on a plane.

One thing I’ve noticed in bigger weddings is that you barely get a chance to have any real, meaningful conversations with your people. Weddings with 100+ guests are super common in Toronto and Ontario generally, so imagine every single guest trying to chat you up. It can feel like A LOT - especially if you don’t enjoy being the center of attention. I loooove smaller gatherings so much because you’re able to navigate a lower-pressure situation by narrowing down your guest list to your must haves. This can create what feels like an even more meaningful experience for you and your favourite peeps because you’re fostering an intimate environment and are able to interact with people more deeply. The best part is that you’re able to throw a party afterwards and invite as many people as you want (given current legal restraints, obvs). Your reception can take place on your actual wedding date, or you can wait a year until hopefully Covid restrictions will ease up and things can go back to a preferred “normal.” Cristin and Angus chose to throw a bigger party for their reception with an extra 40ish people while still keeping the vibes heartfelt, intimate and absolutely gorgeous!
