Assembly Chef's Hall wedding in downtown Toronto

Emma & Stephan’s wedding in downtown Toronto was an absolute gem of a celebration! I loved how fun and low-key their day was, how much warmth exuded from them and their families and how unique their vision was. Their non traditional approach excited every fibre of my photographer self. Their first look was so sentimental and unlike any other first look I’ve shot before. It took place at the EXACT same spot where they first met - cue the tears - on the dance floor at Stone’s Palace (Toronto’s very own Rolling Stones’ themed bar!). We then explored the downtown core for portraits and headed to Assembly Chef’s Hall for their gorgeous ceremony and reception. Instead of a large bridal party, they opted to have two people they love most - Emma’s sister Laura and Stephan’s brother Julien, who just so happened to be the one that married them (excuse me while I cry even more at the intimacy of it all).

Carrie of Roadside Florist did a killer job on the florals - she enhanced the venue space into an unexpected explosion of colour. Her flower installations were one of my two favourites of this year…. my other favourite was also done by her! Their wedding at Assembly Chef’s Hall was a huge hit and definitely a rad venue space for all of you Toronto based foodies getting married. You get to have a sprawling range of international cuisines all at your fingertips instead of your usual sit down dinner. It was all SO friggen delicious!! At one point in the evening I sat in the back of the hall scarfing down some food and Stephan came to keep me company for a few minutes. It really hit me in that moment how lucky I am to have couples like these two, who are so genuine and down to earth. Emma & Stephan, sending you a heartfelt THANK YOU for joining forces with me and letting me into your vibrant world <3
